Organization:  J. Schripsema & Associates, LLC

Grant Amount:  $75,000

Grant Term:  12 Months

Project Description:

§         Proposes to determine the feasibility of developing a low-level concentrating photovoltaic system using an extruded polymer reflector and an integrated rear surface heat sink to significantly reduce the cost per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of solar generated electricity.

Proposed Outcomes:

§         A prototype system will be fabricated and tested.

Anticipated Benefits:

§         Potential to decrease the installed cost of a large photovoltaic system.  The proposed system may reduce the cost to the end customer by $3,000 per kW, primarily from savings in the cost of the module.
