Project Description:

Proposes to research the feasibility of developing a novel polymer zeolite nanocomposite proton-exchange-membrane to allow a PEM fuel cell to operate at high temperatures.

Proposed Outcomes:

·        Synthesized zeolite nanocrystals

·        Produce a nano-composite proton-exchange-membrane (PEM) that will operate at high temperatures (110-115o C)

Anticipated Benefits:

·        Increase working temperature by 30-350 C.

·        Reduce problems associated with CO poisoning of the anode catalyst

·        Reduce costs
