Project Description:

The purpose of this project is to research the feasibility of using oxygen transport membranes (OTMs) to generate oxygen for oxygen enhanced combustion (OEC) for flame stability and NOx reduction in power generation systems.

Proposed Outcomes:

·        Subscale prototype system

·        Feasibility analysis based on prototype performance

·        Better understanding of combustion process

Anticipated Benefits:

·        Increased thermal efficiency and improved flame stability

·        Lower NOx due to lean premixing

·        Reduced flue gas volume
