Project Description:

The purpose of this project is to research the feasibility of a solar air-conditioning system that combines a liquid desiccant-based cooler and a low-cost solar collector for regenerating the liquid desiccant.  A subscale prototype will be built and tested.

Proposed Outcomes:

·        Subscale prototype system

·        Feasibility analysis based on prototype performance

Anticipated Benefits:

·        Reduce AC power consumption by 80% compared to conventional air conditioning

·        Competitive installed costs to conventional AC systems
