Project Description:

§         Proposes to determine the feasibility of a new inverter design for fuel cells and PV systems that would reduce cost, increase reliability and increase conversion efficiency. 

 

Proposed Outcomes:

§         A 5 kW prototype will be fabricated. 

 

Anticipated Benefits:

§         Potential to achieve the DOE power electronics cost target of $40/kW capacity for fuel cells and PV systems.

 

§         Potential to increase inverter efficiency by 2.5% for single-phase and 3.5% for three phase outputs.
