Project Description:
§ Proposes to determine the feasibility of a new inverter design for fuel cells and PV systems that would reduce cost, increase reliability and increase conversion efficiency.
Proposed Outcomes:
§ A 5 kW prototype will be fabricated.
Anticipated Benefits:
§ Potential to achieve the DOE power electronics cost target of $40/kW capacity for fuel cells and PV systems.
§ Potential to increase inverter efficiency by 2.5% for single-phase and 3.5% for three phase outputs.
