Project Description:
§ Proposes to determine the feasibility of developing a method for printing patterns on low cost thin film dye-sensitized titania PV that matches conventional roofing materials to achieve an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Proposed Outcomes:
§ Roofing material images will be printed using PV dyes and modules will be fabricated.
Anticipated Benefits:
§ Potential to deliver photovoltaics at ~$1/W at full volume production.
§ Potential to achieve an installed cost of $3,000/kW assuming $1,000/kW PV and $2,000/kW for BOS and installation, which is half the cost per kWh of other current PV products.
